The short answer is no. Your period occurs every month or so in lieu of an egg becoming fertilized. Eggs are released once a month from the ovary. It also lightens in color and quantity toward the end of the cycle. Many people go on to have healthy babies after experiencing spotting during their first trimester.
Can You Get Your Period and Still Be Pregnant?
Can I still be pregnant if i got my period? -Doctors Lounge(TM)
Guest over a year ago. I've wondered the same thing before. Could I be pregnant after getting my period, even though that is supposed to be impossible by definition? Even after getting my period, I'd get symptoms like abdominal bloating, fatigue, and frequent urination, which are all textbook pregnancy symptoms during the first trimester. Then I'd go out and buy a pregnancy test or several, and they'd end up being negative. I think you really can't be pregnant if you got your period, unless you have two uteruses, which is possible but a very rare medical condition. I understand you would really like to have a baby though, and sometimes that plays tricks on your mind.

But for the first 4 months of my first pregnancy, I had my "period". It wasn't heavy, but it wasn't light. The OB assured me that everything was okay with my pregnancy. Kaden is happy and healthy, no issues at all. I have known someone who had a "period" while pregnant, but it is really not a period.
